Bill Frakes.

Who didn't grow up looking at Sports Illustrated? I remember hanging up posters and always thinking how cool those crazy pictures were.

Well, Wednesday night, I met one of the men making those posters and shooting those covers.

Bill Frakes is a long time friend of Dave LaBelle, the photo adviser of the KY Kernel. He came to speak to our photo group, the Dirty Dozen, and it was truly inspiring.

Frakes spoke on how he shoots an outrageous amount of days of the year, something like 280 or 300. That's a lot for a man with a 5-year-old at home, and something I don't think I would ever be willing to do.

I can't imagine leaving my family behind for that many days of the year. And that's the thing with Frakes, for those days, he's not home. He's traveling the world, shooting pictures. He's an absoulutely amazing photographer (and he knows it too, whoa boy is he cocky).

If you want to see some of his work, check it out AT HIS WEBSITE. I'm sure you'll find something familar.

Only watch if you're not planning on reading.

Here is a video I've made, but don't watch it if you plan to read it (these means the parents).

I'll show you later again after everyone has read it. It really spoils the story if you watch it.
